USE OF 24/7 SIDS FOR USE BY SPEEDWATCH
Thanks to our lateral thinking, mobile Speed Indicating Devices (SIDS) can now be used for Speedwatch
This was requested of both PCC and ACC and Speedwatch Force Lead in May 17 (HERE))
and put to Parish Councils HERE and re-put in Mar19 HERE
This has now been adopted and added to the Cambs Speedwatch Guidelines

CRW ASKS ACC HERE FOR TRUCAMS TO ENABLE PCSO'S
TO ADDREESS COMMUNITY SPEEDING but
Rejected by ACC Basra in 2020 as 'too complex for the ordinary officer'.
IF YOUR COMMUNITY IS BLIGHTED BY PERSISTENT/DANGEROUS LEVELS OF SPEEDING (40/50/60 mph + in a 30)
where speeders need catching rather than deterring then write to the ACC supporting the need for PCSOs to use TruCams.
In this Lockdown speeding has become worse & has proven the need - see HERE what a caring PCC & Constabulary does
